No, local files are compressed in the browser; only URL loading goes through a server proxy.
Which output formats are supported?
JPEG, WebP and PNG.
Will the target file size always be reached?
Quality drops to 10% at minimum; if the file is still larger, the result is marked as not reaching the target.
Can animated GIFs be compressed?
Yes, but the output keeps only the first frame.
