IP Subnet Calculator

Calculate IPv4 network, broadcast and host ranges from CIDR.

The IP Subnet Calculator takes an IPv4 address and prefix length, then computes the network, broadcast address, usable host range and subnet masks for that CIDR block.

How to use

  1. Enter an IPv4 address such as 192.168.1.0.
  2. Enter a prefix length between 0 and 32.
  3. Click Calculate and review the network details.

Frequently asked questions

What does /24 mean?

It means the first 24 bits are the network prefix, leaving 8 bits for 254 usable host addresses.

Why are /31 and /32 host counts zero?

Traditional IPv4 subnetting reserves network and broadcast addresses, so those prefixes report no usable hosts.
